It was cold with very strong winds but I decided to not use the car as part of my One Less Car ideology and rode on my trusty steed commuter bicycle the only 1.1 miles in eight minutes against wind gusts to 40 mph and an icy windchill of -3 F.
These shorter trips or errands in all types of weather are the type of rides that help our environment so much by reducing harmful emissions as well as congestion in our cities. And it helps even more to just make them a habit.
Some of my favorite errand rides are to cafes, shopping and dinning. Not favorites but no less important to the environment are rides to doctors, dentists and pharmacies.
I commute to work each day and pull a Burley d’Lite trailor with my equipment inside.
My most memorable trip was riding my bicycle 6 miles to the airport bus stop loaded with luggage for a trip to Europe.
I made it in time and had a wonderful holiday!
