This morning I more or less dragged myself down the steps with my bicycle and out the door. Some days I seem to have less energy and focus at the start. I usually eat Oikos high protein Greek yogurt or oatmeal with maple syrup and fresh fruit. I feel fuller and better after oatmeal for breakfast however.
In the parking lot I reached in my jersey pocket for my iPhone and on Strava pressed record and start, put the phone back in my jersey pocket and proceeded down the path.
The weather was fabulous. Temps 66 and very low wind 3 miles per hour and wonderfully sunny skies.
I completed the shorter bay loop around Monona Bay and back to the near east side for approximately 11 miles in just over 45 minutes.
I have over 328 miles for May. If I average just over 10 miles in each day that remains in May, I will reach my 400 mile goal!
After my most recent ride, I thoroughly enjoyed a recovery drink or smoothie with low-fat vanilla yogurt, black berries, no-fat milk, six pieces of chocolate and two ice cubes. I rotate the fruit and the sweets to keep the after-ride drink interesting.
