Sunday morning is for riding. After completing some tasks at home, I launched my ride with my Zurich road bike. I road through Demetral Park to Commercial Ave. On Friday, I “called in” an instance of broken glass in the bike lane here.
I looped back on Sherman Avenue through Tenney Park along Yahara Parkway to the bike boulevard. A number of cyclists and pedestrians were out. Temperatures were approaching 80F with high and rising humidity.

I replaced my right pedal cleat before the ride today. It was slipping and no longer locking into the pedal. I was glad that I had ordered a handful weeks ago to have on hand for such a time. With the pedal cleat swapped in, I confidently and safely stopped at a number of intersections, clicking out of the pedal and continuing on clicking in again.
At the end of the bike boulevard, I crossed Williamson St, rode and continued along the Capital City Trail along Lake Monona. A teenager showed me his recently caught fish with excitement. I waived and said “nice one.”
