Today I thoroughly enjoyed a lunch ride on my Fuji Absolute 1.7 bicycle along the shores of Lake Monona, Wingra Creek and Monona Bay in Madison, WI. Temperatures here have risen into the 40s F with clouds and fog.
I feel tip-top after being outside on the bicycle enjoying a lunch ride again. I feel immaculately better after breathing the fresh air of ice and some snow thawing outside.
February is a fairly challenging time to ride a bicycle here. Usually there are much colder temperatures and snow and ice making it more difficult and less rewarding to ride. The average temperature is only 20.9 F degrees.
But today on my ride I saw that most of the snow had melted and roads were clear of snow, sand and salt.
I plan to enjoy many more lunch rides while this warm dry weather permits.
Like many here I believe winter will return with snow, ice and cold so I am leaving on my Marathon Plus winter studded tires for now as well.
