Earth Day Reflections

On this Earth Day today I commuted on my trusty steed like I do each work day. This day was different however. I took some moments to think about and to value commuting with a bicycle and how it benefits immensely our environment in so many important ways.

Commuting into Work

I hope everyone can take the time and have the gumption to take stock of their riding and value all that it means from time to time. We shouldn’t forget.

I have been enjoying the rewards and joys of plein air cycling for over four years now with this setup and to this place of employment. I value the health aspects of riding, including stronger and more refined senses and better taste.

It’s also become a wonderful lifestyle. I’ve learned over the years about diet and eating healthy to ride versus riding to eat.

Most importantly, however, bicycling is a genuine form of transportation that benefits immensely our environment.

Riding a bicycle to work, on errands or for leisure, takes cars off the road, lessens intense congestion and reduces lethal vehicle emissions that upset us and make us very ill and over time kill us.

In fact I am not planning on going back to life in bricks and mortar in-house unless it’s for the higher cause of active transportation.
