Riding Out August With Successes

Fuji Absolute 1.7 Commuter With Pannier

I ventured out on another health errand to pick up some meds. My provider is relatively close by or about four miles away. I ride errands for the most part on my Fuji Absolute 1.7 commuter because I need to carry pannier(s) to store items.

This Sunday evening I changed my routine and was rewarded with a special 30K ride around town.

Many Bicyclists on State Street

I predominantly ride only in the morning, so I was surprised by what I found on an evening ride, including lower position of the sun in the west, large numbers of riders on the trails, larger volume of cars at major intersections and outdoor social activities, including waterskiing and soccer.

Riding at different times of day provides a cornucopia of impressions to add joy to one’s day. Life is a celebration on two wheels!

This Sunday I also surpassed my monthly and weekly goals with one ride of 32K. Before the ride I prepared by reviewing rides in my ride history for a 30K ride as Strava shares how much distance is needed to meet our goals. I found the ride above for 32K and hence met my goals with minimum exertion.

A new academic year has commenced. I left early this morning after a nearly three-month hiatus to resume my duties at my intersection. The sun was just coming up. Cars’ lights were shining. I sincerely look forward to riding through and standing through another academic year of robust and dynamic seasons plein air!
