This morning just before the stroke of ten, I rolled out onto the path for an approximate 20 mile ride on my bicycle celebrating Ride a Bike Month in May.
I spun lightly the wheels first as I made my way on the path through park area. I marveled at the bright green landscape after rain here on the weekend.
I dialed in a route with a loop through and along the Arboretum and made my way picking up speed a bit as I turned on to the Wilson St Bicycle Boulevard.
There were very few cars on the boulevard. I turned off the boulevard onto S Blount St and crossed the intersection with Williamson St diagonally and on to the embankment at Monona Terrace and Law Park on Lake Monona.
Further on along the Wingra Creek Trail, I saw graceful, hallowed geese on the trail that would not move but left me a small space to ride through their lovely number and onward.
In the Arboretum I had a similar event with the wild turkeys there. They are lovely to watch and left me enough space to pass through their group.
The Magnolia trees were blooming magnificently with lovely white and pink hues. The majestic lilac trees were bulging with fresh lilac blooms and emitting their wonderfully sweet aroma.
