On Sunday the EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said on Face the Nation that EPA had a record 31 deregulations just in the past month. This includes coal-fired power plants, fracking and other horrible and dangerous polluters of CFCs.

Inter alia this policy will increase significantly harmful and deadly CFC emissions causing further irreparable damage to our planet, including first and foremost further increasing the severity as well as the frequency of ongoing cataclysmic weather events.

Meanwhile, on Friday morning’s commute I ran into uncommonly severe thunderstorms. As I rode along the shore of Lake Monona, an intense downpour with large, sharp hail started. The sky was pitch black. The hail ricocheted off my helmet and I started to taste salt in my mouth from the hail as I pedaled on.
When I got to my corner, the rain lightened significantly and I changed out of my soak-and -wet gear for dry clothing that I stored in my trailer. I was then much more comfortable.
In retrospect I am glad I rode my bicycle because I was able to taste the intensity of severe weather. In an iron casket one is shielded from all weather and misses feeling and sensing the intense life experience that weather often provides. Joie de vivre!
WisDOT is evaluating the possibility of using passing corridors for faster passenger trains to pass significantly slower freight trains on passenger-rail routes to and from Madison. I sincerely believe the corridors are absolutely necessary to keep passenger trains moving on time based on experience.

We are still waiting for a response from WSOR regarding updating dangerously outdated rail fillings. I hope no one has to get seriously injured crossing over the outrageously dilapidated and deteriorating fillings while we wait for WSOR to fulfill their safety obligations to the public. Sini qua non!

Many people are deeply concerned about the condition of our environment this Earth Day. The current administration is ramping up fossil-fuel production which ignores dangerously all sound climate science.
They believe the myth that increasing fossil-fuel production lowers costs for average Americans, but they inexplicably fail to account justly for growingly astronomical costs of increasingly severe and frequent weather events, e.g.

The US President signing an executive order in January to withdraw the US from the Paris Agreement on Climate Change is not only deeply flawed but also deadly dangerous.
Instead we need to work with the other 197 signatories to properly plan and meet safe goals and outcomes to absolutely ensure a stable climate where we can all prosper. Climate change is a problem sans borders. It demands a global solution.
The President is foolish to go this alone. Only Congress has the authority to repel a law where the US is a signatory. Let the courts decide whether the President has the authority to withdraw the US from this Accord.
It’s a good idea to check our bicycle tires’ air pressure at least once per week. You will likely find that your tires lose a significant amount of air during a week. This can begin to harm the wheel.
Keep your tires PSI at the maximum written on the tire sidewall. Take off 5 PSI from maximum on the front tire for better steering and handling.
