On Thursday I was surprised by a puncture in my rear tyre. I was riding to my commitment and made it there without air.
However, I had a 75-minute walk home. As we all know, riding on a tire without proper PSI will cause damage to the rim and should be avoided.

I’ve carefully looked over the tire inside and out for punctures or residue. Nothing. I have a new wheel, tire and tubes coming in today and tomorrow which should resolve the issue.
This has been the most mysterious puncture that I have had.
Early on a caring older cyclist watching out for the new generation openly explained to me that “the ride was everything.”
And by this he meant that riding any day was contributing positively to our society and in many ways.

Of course, there is the fact that we with our choice to ride a bicycle take a car off the road many times and as a result there is far less congestion and traffic without these cars making it easier for other drivers to get to destinations in timely manners.
Furthermore, in taking these cars off of roads, we reduce harmful and deadly emissions from these cars. A few cars can make a difference in the fluidity of a traffic jam.
So if we take these cars off the road, we take away all the emissions from not only what these cars would have emitted but also and most importantly all the cars and trucks and vehicles stopped in their tracks emitting and waiting to move on.

Climate transportation requires a more careful accounting to show how we in fact very truly comprehensively impact all of our lives and our one planet as well.
With these thoughts at hand on the wheel of our bicycles, we are far more empowered and respected for the challenges we face to improve our lives and our one planet.

We are movers and shakers of climate science and climate change and pedalling forward powerfully and more purely than most.
You may even find that you save time riding a bicycle or walking versus driving a car to your various destinations over the course of your days. Traffic slows progress to your destination that you may find faster and healthier on two wheels or foot.
