It was recently announced that ground will be broken later this year at an appropriate site.

As we roll along on two wheels to important places for us and others, we pass through dangerous intersections where one may find metaphorically science, health, environment and transportation intersecting not only at the intersection but also along the way to various degrees.

Along the avenue of science, we all know the detrimental effects of alcohol on our physiology and as a direct result, only 54 percent of US adults drink alcohol now, according to a recent study published in NYTimesApp.

I broke away from the study results with the following takeaway: drinking alcohol can cause cancer in the mouth, throat, esophagus inter alia.

Even one drink per day can cause a 13 percent risk of mouth and throat cancers. The risk for esophageal cancer is twice that at 26 percent. Five drinks per day essentially doubles these risks.

The more people drink, the more the brain shrinks. One theory says alcohol alters the brain’s immune system causing inflammation that damages neurons.

Cyclists Riding in Warmer Temperatures

Back to cycling and enjoying seeing many more people migrate with warming temperatures to the paths and trails of our superior microclimate protected with not only well educated stewards but also local cities et al to improve everyone’s active transportation experience.
