It was a truly wonderful week back commuting with a bicycle to commence with the new academic year.

I squeezed the brakes a fair amount on riding in the summer based on spontaneous and growing biofeedback.
On the one hand I healed up not being so cutup but on the other hand I wondered what my ride distance limit might be when I restarted commuting in the fall.
I needed at least 20 miles per day to complete my commute and as a result I shifted up and powered through to them on three days.
I hit the bullseye late Friday when I surpassed my pre-determined weekly goal of 100 km.

Velominati Rule #58 Espresso or Macchiato Only. We all know caffeine is a diuretic which causes dehydration, muscle fatigue, cramps, headaches and more. So drink a lot of water before, during and after your coffees.

Ah the joys of a truly unplanned ride. I had not known when I awoke this morning that après coffee I would be off on my commuter bicycle at such an early hour for this day and time of week.
I usually rest and relax on weekends. But I got involved in a difficult read and I think I wanted to break away into another world i e our microclimate and enjoy all the trappings of the ride to the store instead of driving in a stuffy, dark cage the approximately 3 miles.
It had been a while since I had ridden this special route. It wasn’t always carfree. The route has become divergent parts interwoven into a fluent network and offering a wealthier experience of diversity along the way and a far more rewarding pursuit than an alternatively dangerous bike lane with four lanes of cars and buses zooming too close by one or two streets over. Separation is safety.
