Racing Trains and Losing Weight

I had another in many ongoing exhilarating experiences recently on my commute in to my commitment the other morning.

Freight-Train Locomotive

As I headed out at the usual time about one hour before sunrise, I found me riding alongside a freight train.

It was loud and noisy and the gasps and chokes from diesel fumes emitted from the aged and inefficient locomotive were disgusting.

The freight train was moving along slowly as it had only one locomotive. I was able to pass it over a short period of time.

When I passed up the locomotive with some more effort, I threw my bicycle as if over a sprint-race line in exhilaration over the imaginary intersection chronicling beating a locomotive train to the spot.

Commuter Set Up Beats Diesel Locomotive

I know many ride a bicycle for a fountain of youth and also to lose weight inter alia. This being said, I was very pleased as well as amazingly shocked at my last visit to my provider when I weighed in at 27 pounds lighter than less than 3 months ago!

One Cycling Diet

I can only attribute this loss to eating much smaller portions especially at night, missing some meals or eating very light ones with only yogurt, e.g., and of course bicycling longer distances.

The weather was splendid in the run up to Christmas and the New Year, so I got out on longer countryside rides generating longer distances with more enriched impressions that were absolutely spectacular.

I was on break so I lived somewhat spontaneously and sunny days with near record warmth led me out on my road bicycle which had been stored until spring here and cycling shorts with baselayer and jersey on top.

Looking back fondly, I have to say this was the best gift I had received!
