Today while returning home from my bicycle commute, three thoughts came to mind re bicycling, bicycling infrastructure and bicycling movement.
First, the vision and substance of the green prism in better understanding, appreciating and valuing the above three subjects. The green prism is a lens to view these subjects with environmentally friendly thought and actions, including communing with nature, enjoying fauna, trees, birds, including non-migrating geese, and animals as well as picturesque scenery beholden to us.
Second, the microclimate model is used to address the needs of infrastructure users. With the model, we see and appreciate the precarious existence of infra users, including their threatened and deteriorating air quality, soil quality and water quality.
Third, is the thought of viewing these three subjects as a parallel universe in contemporary transportation. Separation (from cars) is safety and grows ridership. The act of bicycling is separate from other road users inherently.
