Riding Through and For the Forests

This week’s announcement by the US agriculture secretary to essentially rescind the highly successful Roadless Rule of 2001 is an egregious error that could harm millions of residents.

The rule is protecting 58 million acres of natural forests by prohibiting loggers and other extractive users from driving into the lands and logging or extracting.

Our Forests Secure Our Wellbeing

Rescinding these regulations would not only threaten the health of the forests but also the secure wellbeing and quality of life of millions of citizens who rely on these critical forests for safe drinking water and healthy air to breath, recreation and wellbeing and more importantly carbon sinks that further cleanse our air and suck deadly CO2 out of our air and store it in trees and other foliage.

This being said, we should all be in contact with the president, agriculture secretary, congresspeople, and various other decision makers to say we are vehemently opposed to the president’s rescinding the Roadless Rule and stop this potentially deadly and deeply threatening heinous act.
