Scope of Cognitive Sciences

Recently research shows a number of startling relationships between cognitive health and our bodies overall health,

First, as you may not know high blood pressure has been proven to cause cognitive disfunction.

High Blood flow either thickens artery walls causing obstructed blood flow or it weakens artery walls causing blood to leak into the brain.

Second hearing and eye loss also cause cognitive disfunction as senses are lost and as result the areas of the brain responsible atrophies.

Third, oral health can also impact cognitive health. Not flossing can cause a build up of bacteria that can lead to Alzheimer’s disease.
