The Ukrainian delegation in Abu Dhabi UAE should never surrender any land in the Donbas. We all need to understand that we together, and I mean unified western forces, have superior military advantage to push Russia out to 2014 borders without question.
Anything less is unacceptable especially when considering the infinitesimal cost to the Ukrainian people in lives lost, injuries, infrastructure destruction and damage over the tumultuous course of these almost four years of unprovoked, unjust and inhumanly unfair war.
We need to disregard the Anchorage Memorandum citing Russian acquisition of Donbas in return for non-territorial concerns.
American envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, who reeks of nepotism in US Foreign Policy, met with Russian President Vladimir V. Putin yesterday in the Kremlin for four hours according to NYTimes App., on there way to the first three-way talks with the US for quite some time and hosted by Abu Dhabi UAE.
It is all boiling down to territorial concerns especially Donbas where Ukraine has an extremely fortified position and holds under deeply fortified control about a quarter of the large eastern region.
The Ukraine position is for both sides to withdraw and create a demilitarised zone in place of the armies retreating.
Putin cites the Anchorage Memorandum that he agreed to, which he thinks gives him control of Donbas.
Meanwhile, Trumps cronies are making more deals in the region, including on the ground floor of a lithium mining operation in Ukraine signed yesterday.
Ukrainian President Vladymyr Zelensky met with US President Donald J. Trump in Davos Thursday and Trump allegedly promised more Patriot missile systems to defend the civil population and infrastructure from the conscious and blatant attacks of the Russians to freeze the Ukrainians out this winter.
And this has been Russia’s most successful attempt to date in this regard. Kyivites are getting one hour of heat per day at 19 F and very limited supply of hot water.
The world community by and large see the ongoing non-military bombings by Russia of missiles and drones as war crimes against peaceful Ukrainian citizens.
And many Russians have been charged with these crimes by the ICC in The Hague. Putin himself is suspected of warm crimes and genocide and wanted in over 130 countries around the world.
The need for Patriot missile systems indicates that Ukraine with its allies has not been successful in installing Iron Dom to better defend its population from growing missile and drone strikes.
This should have been better handled before the second invasion in February 2022. Something similar to Israel’s famously effective air defense should have been installed with key allies.
