The Annual Ride the Drive is set for mid-August in Madison. From the very limited information on the event website, this year’s event promises to be a mix of car-free streets and parks.

My favorite ride the drive was circa 2018 when there was a four-mile car-free zone on John Nolan Drive from Olin Park to Williamson St.
And this was only the first leg of a loop around downtown Madison that included Capitol Square and State Street.
My impression was overwhelmingly joyful gratitude. Seagulls were flying about singing. One could never hear this joy above the obnoxious motors roaring and spewing poisonous gases and screaming tires on the pavement during rush hours and other times.

Throughout the year-round bicycling year, I hang clothes to dry on my bicycles standing in non-living corridors.
I start with the baselayer which is most wet and then I find room for other clothes. They dry by my next ride in six hours time.
Besides a wardrobe assist, I’ve come to see the mindful mechanisms as utilitarian sculptures, including as tables, planters, etc.
According to NYTIMESApp, $67 Million has been illegally and corruptly diverted from US National Parks entrance fees to fund Trump beautification projects in Washington.
Europe has the fastest rising temperature in the world due to climate change. May had seen a record heat wave propelled by unrelenting burning of fossil fuels.

It’s Bike to Work week in Madison this week. There are a number of events planned, including my favorite hospitality tents with coffee, drinks, bacon, etc.

I’m having some trouble with drivers at the two-way stop intersection in front of my residence. In the diagram imagine me crossing left to right with right-of-way.
I show my left turn signal waving at times and the cars to my left refuse to see and start to come out into their left turn nearly hitting me.
I hollered at the elderly driver this morning to finally get her attention for committing this egregious violation.
